The new Basic Regulation 2018/1139 is the cornerstone of the EU regulatory framework in civil aviation, hence an important piece of legislation to be aware of.
This course describes the main changes it introduces in the fields of ATM/ANS and aerodromes, compared to Regulation 216/2008, in particular:
  • Introduction of delegated acts
  • New objectives and extended scope
  • Changes in substantive and essential requirements in the fields of ATM/ANS and aerodromes, especially when it comes to
    • ATM/ANS systems and ATM/ANS constituents
    • organisations involved in the design, production or maintenance of such systems and equipment
    • certification of ATM/ANS providers (and possibilities for exemption)
    • design of airspace structures
    • safety-related aerodrome equipment
  • New functions and tasks of EASA in or affecting the fields of ATM/ANS and aerodromes
  • New possibilities for reallocation of responsibilities with regards to certification, oversight and enforcement tasks.
After completing the course, participants should be able to explain the main changes introduced by the new Basic Regulation 2018/1139, in the fields of ATM/ANS and aerodromes, compared to regulation 216/2008.
Anyone involved in the fields of ATM/ANS and aerodromes, who wishes to develop an understanding of the impact the new Basic Regulation 2018/1139 could have on these fields.
Certificate awarded
Candidates passing the examination will receive a certificate of accomplishment. Other candidates will receive a certificate of attendance.
