The importance of management systems in the Single European Sky context has considerably increased. The implementation of a management system is compulsory for competent authority and service providers for all services within the ATM/ANS framework.
Staff of the competent authorities involved in the oversight of service providers need to have knowledge what management systems are in order to effectively verify compliance, in particular in the view to execute risk based oversight

The course will provide a brief guide to management systems, addressing the key components such as process management, risk management, compliance management, and performance management. Finally, it addresses the Single European Sky (SES) regulatory requirements related to management systems
 
The course will attempt to provide answers to the following themes:
  • What is a management system?
  • How to manage processes?
  • How to manage risks?
  • How to monitor performance?
  • What are the SES requirements to management systems?
Important Note
This is a virtual classroom course  scheduled over three consecutive days.
The total effort expected from the course participants is 6 hours.
Objectives
Upon completing this course you will be able to:
  • Understand the principles of Management Systems and the benefits it provides to the organisation;
  • Understand the concept of processes and their interrelations and their management;
  • Understand the concept of performance measurement to monitor the performance of Management Systems;
  • Understand the concept of compliance management ensuring that an organisation complies to applicable regulations and able to demonstrate it to the oversight authority;
  • Be familiar with the Single European Sky (SES) regulations related to Management Systems.
