The Flexible Use of Airspace Concept (FUA) has been adopted by ICAO as a tool for enhancing the efficiency and safety of civil aircraft operations whilst maintaining national defence and military training requirements.

As a result, the ICAO have developed Doc 10088 - Manual on Civil-Military cooperation from the pre-existing Circular 330 AN/189 - Civil/Military Cooperation in Air Traffic Management.

This course applies the ICAO concept to a realistic operational environment and develops the essential requirements for effective civil-military cooperation.
Prerequisites
Participants will need to have a working knowledge of the ICAO airspace classifications, airspace reservations, and publication requirements of ICAO Annex 15.

An operational background in either military or civil ATM would be an advantage.
Important Note
This course is based on the ICAO implementation of the flexible use of airspace concept.
Objectives
By the end of the ASM-FUA-C course, participants will be able to identify the pre-requisite civil-military cooperation requirements for the development of a flexible approach to the use of airspace.
Audience
The ASM-FUA-C course is designed for civil and military staff intending to implement or enhance civil-military cooperation in the domain of flexible airspace management.
