The DEMETER Introduction, with a duration of 2 days, is dedicated to new and inexperienced DEMETER users and provides the basic knowledge for using the main functionalities of the tool. The instructors will explain and demonstrate the various functions and support the attendees in their practical exercises.  At the end of Day 2 the participants will have a general overview of the main features of the tool and will be in a position to undertake simple coverage and RNAV performance simulations in support of infrastructure assessments.
This DEMETER Introductory course has no prerequisites.  However, an awareness of the PBN concept is an advantage. 
Important Note
This specific tools course is designed to support navigation infrastructure planners and technical experts. The DEMETER training is in two parts and explains how to use DEMETER tool for infrastructure assessment and optimisation and includes practical exercises
This course aims to give a new or inexperienced DEMETER user the practical knowledge to use the tool efficiently and effectively.  The primary aim is to prepare the participant for the Advanced DEMETER course [NAV-DEM-ADV] where ‘hands on’ experience in using the DEMETER software for infrastructure assessment and planning will be gained.  Following both parts of the DEMETER training will prepare the participant to support his/her State when terrestrial infrastructure optimisation is required in view of PBN implementation.
This course takes place over 2 days.
The DEMETER Introduction course is designed specifically for new or inexperienced navigation infrastructure personnel, flight inspectors, procedure designers and airspace designers.  This course is not recommended for anyone who does not work on terrestrial navigation aids assessment and planning.
