Course further information

HERA, “Human Error in ATM projects” aims to determine how and why human errors are contributing to incidents. The HERA approach has been designed specifically for application in the ATM environment and conceptualises human performance as resulting from mental operations based on information that is perceived from the environment. Determination of the human contribution to incidents, the classification of errors and their further analysis and breakdown into potential causal factors, enable us to go deeper into the analysis of human error and to act on contextual factors to improve human reliability. This four-day course provides an understanding of the HERA taxonomy and practical experience of the application of human error investigation, with ATM-specific examples. The course deals with the details of the tool and how this analysis links with incident investigation and incident reporting.
It is strongly recommended that participants have previously followed the Accident and Incident Investigation course.
