This course provides participants with a place to present their work (‘Part 2’) and get feedback from both the instructional team and other course participants.
A maximum of 10 topics may be presented during the course, by group of 1 to 3 participants maximum.
The presentations should not focus on the technical details of the specific change under assessment, but rather on:
  • the application of the generic steps of its safety assessment and/or safety support assessment, and their main outputs
  • the difficulties encountered
  • the solutions implemented
  • the lessons learnt
The course duration may be adapted depending on the actual number of presentations.
The presentations must address the minimum content described in an email which will be sent to the participants about 3 months before the course starts.
There are 2 mandatory pre-requisites before attending the Part 3 course:
  • Successful completion of the relevant Part 1 course (SAF-CHG-AC-1)
  • Active participation in at least one of the following topic and development of a presentation whose minimum content will be described in an email sent to the participants about 3 months before the course:
    • safety assessment and/or safety support assessment of a change to the ATM/ANS functional system
    • adaptation of the change management procedures to ensure compliance with Regulation No. 2017/373 and its AMC/GM, if appropriate
Important Note
This course is consistent with Regulation No. 2017/373 (laying down common requirements for providers of ATM/ANS and other ATM network functions and their oversight) and its Acceptable Means of Compliance (AMC) and Guidance Material (GM).
After presenting their work, participants will receive feedback (what went well, what can be improved, lessons learnt, etc.) from both the instructional team and the other course participants.
The course can be regarded as a forum of exchange of experiences, aiming at sharing good/best practices as well as ideas on how to address in an efficient way, issues relating to the implementation of Regulation No. 2017/373 and its AMC/GM, when it comes to the safety assessment and safety support assessment of changes to the ATM/ANS functional system.
The aim is ultimately to support participants in applying the relevant processes in an efficient way, while ensuring the way they are applied adds value.
This course is designed for personnel working for an ATM/ANS service provider who are actively involved (i.e. contributing or coordinating) in the safety assessment and/or safety support assessment of changes to the ATM/ANS functional system, as per Regulation No. 2017/373 (applicable since 2nd January 2020) and its AMC/GM.
