The current European ATM regulatory framework requires all staff undertaking safety-related tasks to be appropriately trained and competent. Such training is often carried out using a combination of classroom-based and practical skills training.
This course provides theoretical and practical training in the design and execution of classroom lesson sessions. It is based on the format specified in EUROCONTROL Safety Regulatory Requirement 5 (ESARR 5) ATM Services' Personnel, and uses taxonomy training levels to denote the degree of detail involved in the teaching.
The course covers the principles of classroom teaching and a range of methods designed to determine whether the teaching objectives have been achieved. Because the techniques taught are suitable for classroom lessons on any subject, this course will be useful to those involved in classroom teaching on any aspect of air traffic management.
