This course is designed for a wide audience, to provide an overview of the safety assessment process when changes are introduced to the ATM/ANS functional system, in the context of a quality and safety management system.
The course is consistent with relevant EU legislation currently in force (mainly Regulations No. 1035/2011, 1034/2011 and 482/2008), but focuses also on the changes which Regulation 2016/1377 (laying down common requirements for service providers and the oversight in ATM/ANS and other ATM network functions) and its Acceptable Means of Compliance (AMC) and Guidance Material (GM), are introducing.
It combines "theory" and practical exercises based on non ATM examples for the first part of the course, and on real, up-to-date ATM examples for the last 3 days of the course.
After completing the course, participants should have a detailed understanding of the principal steps to be undertaken during a safety assessment, and of the relationship between safety assessment processes and a quality and safety management system.
This course is designed for personnel working in any area of ATM/ANS who need an introduction to safety assessment processes. It would also benefit those working for a Competent Authority in ATM/ANS (i.e. NSAs) who are involved in oversight of changes (review of safety arguments/ safety cases).
All candidates will receive a certificate of attendance.
