Design of ATC Simulation Exercises and Courses [HUM-SIM]

Classroom Course
  • Practical exercises
The current European ATM regulatory framework requires all staff undertaking safety-related tasks to be appropriately trained and competent. Such training is often carried out using a combination of practical skills training and classroom-based training. Practical skills training for air traffic controllers is carried out using simulators. In order to be of value, it is important that this training is designed according to specific objectives. Our course includes both theoretical and practical work to achieve meaningful training for the creation of ATC simulation exercises and courses based on predefined training objectives. The topics covered include the fundamental principles and parameters of simulation exercise design, workload evaluation and evaluation of a simulation course.
Prerequisites
Participants should have ATC experience. Experience with PCs (Windows) and MS Excel is strongly recommended.
Objectives
After completing the course, participants will have an understanding of the necessary elements in ATC simulation exercise and course design and will have gained practical experience in designing such exercises.
Audience
This course is designed for ATC instructors who are, or will be, involved in simulation courses and developing ATC simulation courses.
Certificate awarded
All candidates will receive a certificate of attendance.
