ARTAS (ATM Surveillance Tracker and Server) is the European state-of-the-art SDPS (surveillance data processing system). It is operational in an increasing number of European states and is being implemented in a very large number of other states for pre-operational evaluation. The latest version of ARTAS supports all the new surveillance techniques, such as Mode S, ADS-B and wide-area multilateration (WAM). The course also illustrates the current project status of ARTAS, including its compliance with relevant SES Implementing Rules.
This course gives an overview of the concept of ARTAS, its essential functional blocks and its implementation activities. The course is comprehensively illustrated with screenshots and demonstrations. In addition, students have the opportunity to practise the knowledge gained, in a computer lab.
Participants should have a basic knowledge of the surveillance techniques currently in use and of data communication concepts.
After completing the course, participants will be able to describe the ARTAS architecture and to explain the basic algorithms and functions of each main component.
This course is designed for engineers and technicians involved in surveillance data processing. It may also be of interest to managers involved in purchasing a surveillance data processing system.
All candidates will receive a certificate of attendance.
