The course encourages the active involvement of the participants. In addition to instructor-led presentations, students are expected to analyse different topics and to participate in and facilitate small working groups. The cross-fertilisation of participant ATC experience has proved to be an important positive feature of the course.
It is required that this course is taken by suitably qualified OJTIs/STDIs at least every 3 years.
Participants must hold or must have held an air traffic controller licence with a valid OJTI/STDI endorsement.
Before attending the course, the participants will be asked to send us a copy of their ATCO licence and OJTI/STDI endorsement, with the relevant ICAO language proficiency level.
This course is approved by the Belgian Supervisory Authority (BSA).
After completing the course, participants with previous air traffic controller OJTI/STDI experience will have undertaken refresher training that reinforces the knowledge and techniques needed by a competent OJTI/STDI.
This course is designed for air traffic controllers who are experienced ATC-OJTIs/STDIs and who have previously completed an OJTI-STDI training course.
All candidates will receive a certificate of attendance.
