As SASS-C version 6 is to be replaced by SASS-C version 7, these are probably the last SASS-C version 6 courses.
Surveillance Analysis Support System for Centre (SASS-C) is a LINUX-based software product developed by EUROCONTROL to enable the performance of the various elements of the surveillance chain to be measured, particularly those supporting air traffic services in en-route airspace. SASS-C offers a way to evaluate the performance of the surveillance infrastructure, at either sensor or tracker level. As such, the tool plays a key role in evaluations in support of related SES regulations.
This introductory course provides general knowledge and the basic skills related to the SASS-C tool. Course participants will gain an overview of the uses and benefits of performing plot and track analysis.
The course is designed to teach skills in the use of SASS-C, and utilises both theoretical and practical training sessions. Practical training sessions use an individual PC running the latest SASS-C V6 version. A standard dataset is available for practical training sessions, but participants are welcome to bring their own dataset with them.
The course also provides an overview of the current use of the SASS-C tool and its likely future role within the Single European Sky context.
A knowledge of sensors used in current surveillance systems is essential in order to fully understand this course.
Please note that this course is held locally upon request at the location of your choice. If you are interested, please contact us at firstname.lastname@example.org.
After completing the course, participants will be able to:
- state the capabilities of the SASS-C software tool;
- describe the principal steps involved in conducting a SASS-C evaluation;
- perform simple evaluations using the SASS-C V6 analysis tool.
This course is designed for engineers and technicians involved in surveillance sensor evaluation. It may also be of interest to managers and operational staff involved in sensor evaluation.
All candidates will receive a certificate of attendance.
No fee applies for course participants from Member States’ competent authorities and certified organisations. The training cost is sponsored by the EUROCONTROL Work Programme.
The price per course participant from other organisations or individuals is 1500 EUR.
