ATM security measures, as part of aviation security, are designed to safeguard civil aviation against acts of unlawful interference and are therefore becoming ever more important in the ATM industry. This course is an awareness course for ATM staff dealing with ATM security as regulators, project managers or ANSP security staff. It provides participants with a basic understanding of the ATM security regulation framework and the purpose of security management systems, and particularly focuses on the process of carrying out a risk assessment, a key activity for SESAR and other ATM project managers. The course guides participants through a simple and also a more complex - ATM related - risk assessment, making use of the existing toolkit. The course also provides a forum for sharing experiences of implementing security management systems.

After completing the course, participants will have a basic understanding of ATM security (the regulatory framework, security aspects in certain ATM domains). In addition, participants will be aware of the EUROCONTROL Security Management Handbook and its related guidance material, and of the recommended risk assessment method.
ATM staff dealing with ATM security: regulators, project managers, ANSP security staff, system managers of ATM Systems.

All candidates will receive a certificate of attendance.
